SPRINGFIELD — Water and sewer rates for customers of the Springfield Water and Sewer Commission will rise 6.5% beginning July 1, with the average residential household paying an additional $84 per year, officials said on Thursday.
The three-member Board of Commissioners that oversees the Water and Sewer Commission voted to enact the fee increase, citing a need for systemwide infrastructure improvements.
