Chelsea strolls into Billy’s office to talk about their podcast. She teases him about his corporate persona. They kid around and then she asks when they will get their kids together for a play date.

He offers to figure it out. She presses him and he wonders why this is so urgent.

“You are never going to change your stance toward me regarding Johnny,” she accuses.

He tells her that the timing is wrong given what his kids are going through. She won’t accept this response.

They bicker about Johnny and he reminds her that it was her choice not to have him in her life.

Billy wonders what has changed suddenly. Leaping up, she tells him she has a different outlook on life.

People have always treated her as an outsider. That didn’t bother her before but she lost her sense of self-worth after she poisoned Rey. He was the only one who was kind to her when she was in her dark place.

It was a big step of her to walk away from fashion when it wasn’t making her happy.

She deserves to be happy and has skills other than design and conning people.

They talk about how important it is for people on the internet to connect to them. She wants to be more open in her life and thinks Johnny should be part of that.

He reminds her they have an agreement. Chelsea says the kids deserve to know the truth. It could mean a lot to Johnny and Connor.

Billy promises to speak to Victoria and let her know how it goes.

Trevor St. John joins Y&R

Nate and Elena eat quiche at Society and discuss her contract. He spots Sally and asks her over.

They tell her they want to reschedule a meeting to re-negotiate Elena’s contract. Sally didn’t know they had a meeting in the first place.

Nate reminds her of the dinner Imani set up but it’s not ringing any bells. Sally checks her schedule but the meeting was never on the books.

They congratulate her on taking over at Newman Media. Nate knows what it’s like to take a hard left in your career. Elena wants to do that too and that’s why she needs to be released from her contract.

They chat about how well her podcast is doing and Sally isn’t sure why she would let Nate poach her. Elena says plenty of doctors could do the job as well as her. She’s even compiled a list of them.

She assures Sally she’s enjoyed her time at Newman Media. Nate says someone can step into her role seamlessly, just as they did when Ask MD passed from him to her.

Sally has some doubts. Nate rights a figure on a napkin and hands it over.

“I will be sad to see you go,” Sally decides after reading it. They conclude the deal and Spectra wishes them well.

Once the couple walk away, she looks at the number and gives a little laugh.

Chelsea comes in and corners Sally at the bar, smugly offering her sympathies about Adam and how bad she feels for her.

Sally reminds Chelsea that she has a kid with him and still couldn’t make it work. Chelsea abruptly walks away.

Chelsea sits down with Billy as she eats and she goes on about podcast ideas. They both like true crime. She brings up The Grinning Soul and how great it is.

He’s sure their audience will eat up all her stories about scamming people. She likes his energy; it looks good on him. Chelsea wonders why he keeps going back to the corporate world.

She thinks he keeps trying to live up to his family’s expectations. That fails and then he rebels. Billy insists that he’s in a good place right now.

When he has trouble admitting he’s fulfilled at Chancellor-Winters, she assumes that means it’s because it’s false.

Nate and Elena return to the office. He’s surprised she’s not happier about this contract issue being solved.

She thinks it’s crazy she needs to explain to him that Imani tricked him into an intimate dinner. He’s confused and says there’s no secret plot.

Nate accuses her of having it in for Imani. She wonders if he’s not seeing what she’s up to because he doesn’t want to.

He wonders if she is accusing him of something. She’s sure it has been boosting his ego to have Imani paying him so much attention and supporting him with Devon.

“As opposed to your girlfriend who couldn’t comprehend?” she snaps. Nate tells her how important her support is. She huffs that he doesn’t seem willing to confide in her like he does with Imani.

They argue about her level of support. Elena is sure that he’s refusing to see what’s in front of his face. He just likes Imani because she tells him all he wants to hear.

“What could be more enticing than that?” she asks.

On the rooftop, Summer asks Kyle what he’s being so mysterious about. She assumes it must have something to do with their mothers.

He tells her he’s working on something that could help people they care about.

As they sit down, they discuss Tessa’s situation. Mariah suggested something productive. They can hire her as a model for Marchetti.

She’s not thrilled that Mariah brought this idea because she brings trouble. They only have a peaceful co-existence because he is friends with her.

He assures her Mariah won’t be playing showbiz wife.

At Crimson Lights, Mariah brings Tessa tea and starts making plans for their day.

Using her board, Tessa urges her to go to work because she’s fine. It’s in all caps so Mariah jokes she’s shouting. Tessa keeps pointing at the sign.

Mariah tells her that their connection is no joke and they can feel what the other is going through. She reminds her of her kidnapping and tells her it’s pointless to keep things from her.

Keeping things in is not the way to go, especially since she already feels everything she does.

Tessa likes to be fawned over and thinks she’s wonderful. Mariah suggests they channel her creative energy into something.

Summer and Kyle arrive, eager to talk to Tessa, who is confused. They ask if she’d be interested in being the new face for Marchetti. Mariah is stunned.

“I’m speechless,” Tessa uses her machine to say. She’s flattered but it’s a reminder of what she might be losing.

Her wife encourages her to do this. It could be great.

Summer points out she wouldn’t have to use her voice and continue healing. Plus, this would be a great way to grow her brand.

Tessa smiles as they keep pitching the idea. Once Summer and Kyle depart, Tessa accuses Mariah of setting this up. She saw her conspiring with Kyle yesterday.

Mariah admits it and claims she just wants to see her face on billboards. Tessa says she should be mad but is too much in love. They kiss.

Sally returns to her office and sends Adam a text reminding him of her offer to tell him what she knows about Ashland’s death if he is honest with her.

Kevin meets with Chance to show him the new evidence he has discovered.

Things get heated as Nate and Devon bicker about his place in the business. “What are going to do? Punch me again?” Nate taunts him.

“I told her about Diane’s resurrection,” Nikki explains to Phyllis as they meet with a journalist. “I thought that would be a fabulous story for my magazine,” the journalist says.
