SIIP MX transforms petroleum wastewater into purifiable drinking water as seen in the picture. CADE ANDREWS | PLEASANTON EXPRESS

Last week, SIIP-MX completed real time demonstrations at the Eagle Ford Wastewater Recycling and Treatment Plant in Charlotte. The Mexican based company processes any type of raw water and purifies it through a series of steps to become drinkable.

Once the raw water is taken, it goes through three stages of electrolysis. During the electrolysis, the carbon dioxide is reduced and the materials are oxidized. During the electrolysis, the aeration process also occurs which ventilates all the contaminants in the water.

SIIP MX has worked with over 100 different cities throughout Mexico. With very low maintenance costs and low power consumption, Carlos Aguilar, a trade representative with the company, feels the company can benefit many people.

“We want to show the world the environmental impact that we can create with this,” Aguilar said. “There’s a cheap alternative to do this type of thing. With this technology we could help the city treat sewer waters and give drinkable water in a matter of just minutes.”

Following the electrolysis process, the water goes through a series of filters in the coagulation and flocculation processes. This separates and binds any of the remaining compounds in the water to be released. The whole process can produce hundreds of gallons of clean, potable water within minutes.

During their few days in Charlotte, SIIP MX Director Bob Shockley and the company’s goal was to give people the opportunity to see it for themselves. He further added that the company can be a reliable source for areas in which a natural disaster occurs.

“What we have here is the final process to get it back to drinking water,” Shockley said. “The first objective was to get the equipment here and set it up and let people see that this equipment does the final process.”

After presenting and testing the demonstrations, SIIP MX looks to obtain permits within the cities and has hopes to provide services within Atascosa County in the near future.
