Town of Quartzsite applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 0.9 million gallons per day (mgd) of treated domestic wastewater from the Town of Quartzsite WWTP to the Tyson Wash in the Colorado River, in La Paz County, Arizona. The Town of Quartzsite WWTP is a publicly owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential and commercial sources in Quartzsite. Sludge is stabilized in sequential batch reactors and then thickened or dewatered for landfill disposal.
